Writing Guidelines

Welcome to the Caribbean Union Gleanings! Here we share stories across the Caribbean Union territory. If you’re ready to share news, testimonies, or ministry highlights from your church, school, or institution, these guidelines will help you prepare a strong, publishable submission.

Who can submit articles?

  • Anyone may pitch a story idea, but we especially encourage youth and young adults to contribute.
  • Ensure your church, school, or institution has an appointed communication director or communication leader to manage submissions.

What you can write about

We welcome articles on a wide range of topics, including:

  • Church growth and evangelism initiatives
  • Special programs and community outreach
  • Youth and young adult involvement
  • Education, health, and mission activities
  • Unique events that highlight the diversity and faith of the Caribbean Union

Stories should be accurate, engaging, and specific, clearly representing your group or ministry.

Submission requirements

  • Articles may be submitted in English, French, or Spanish or Dutch. Please include translations when possible.
  • Send your article to your local communication leader, who will forward it to your conference communication director for review.
  • Submit your story as a Word document attached to your email.
  • Send photos separately, ensuring they are clear and properly labelled.

Writing guidelines

  • Keep your article simple and concise.
  • Cover the 5 W’s—Who, What, When, Where, and How—within the first two paragraphs.
  • Identify every person mentioned using their full name and role.
  • Include your contact information in case clarification is needed.
  • All submissions should follow the Adventist News Network (ANN) Style Guide.
